let's be real: plagiarism scandals in academia happen all the time (not because academics plagiarize a lot, but just because of how many millions of faculty there are around the world) and it is never general-public news unless the culprit is a member of a minority.

I don’t think there’s ever been a clearer example of the British media bullying someone, who was so clearly vulnerable, to death so shamelessly in my lifetime for engagement and clicks And now we’ll have to watch the people that did it claim they’re shocked, and horrified Revolting
The three players in this photo: 1. Nigerian heritage, grew up in England, and is only a citizen thanks to birthright citizenship. 2. Born + raised in Holland, has a dad who immigrated to the US from Suriname. 3. Said he wanted to “make people who look like me proud” while playing on Juneteenth
Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales. Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37. They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.
There are people all across Belfast helping relocate people, get them food, clothes, meds and more. You will likely never hear about them on the news. But they are many. And *they* are Belfast.
If Muslims or members of the Asian and Black community had set fire to white people’s homes with children running for their lives, do you think we would be discussing legitimate concerns or focussing on who radicalised them and ideological and contributing cultural factors?

This tweet, for a Ross Barkan story that copied my lede and reporting, now has more than 10x the views of the original. Ross hasn't apologized or acknowledged it; maybe he's just waiting for me to shut up. Without any explanation, I'm left to wonder how many times he's done this
Amazon are partnering with Comic Relief to sell their red noses. Last year Comic Relief raised £34 million which is how much Jeff Bezos makes in six hours. Dig deep everyone.
Do they think people have literally no memory of past events at all?

Today I did a presentation for 50 relationship managers at the Arts Council about that often overused and misunderstood phrase, 'youth voice'. (I figured they probably spent too much of their time looking at powerpoint presentations, so I did my slides in felt tip pen instead.)
I was talking to my hairdresser about The Sopranos today. He hasn’t seen it so I asked him do you know what the premise is and then we had a long conversation about a drama series that doesn’t exist called The Premise because it was too awkward to tell him that he’d misunderstood.
This is a lie. There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years. But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.
There needs to be a word for the long deep sleep that terminates a snotty cold once and for all.

Richard Tice during an interview "Keir Starmer literally used the words: take up arms and go for the enemy" What a lemon Firstly (& most importantly) he DID NOT say that. Secondly you can’t wang on about language you don’t like AND parade Lucy Connolly like a mascot. Make your mind up.
After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.

Every course I run, I ask each participant to send me a song that makes them happy. The songs go into a playlist for that course which I play in breaks and at lunch. It’s a small way to make people feel included and happy - two crucial conditions for co-creation.
Difficult to express how I feel about those in our politics and media who are more concerned about what some rapper said at Glastonbury than fact that, as a matter of deliberate policy, the Israeli government is paying mercenaries to murder starving civilians for fun. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
