There are high-up editors at prestigious publications who wrote or greenlit like dozens of “Moon Base to Open Within Six Years” or “Space Hotel Slated for 2026” headlines. Nothing happened to them. They just get to keep doing it. Wild.

Holy hell, just had a Mourning Warbler in the yard (central PA). Heard something I didn't recognize... opened up Merlin... Merlin ID'ed it... I ran to get my binos... tracked down the sound and yep... MOWA! First in the U.S. for me... previously only seen them in the winter in Central America.

Cool, so NSF is now going to be used to essentially launder money to tech bros because universities are just too cumbersome and disciplinary oversight and regulations and accountability are all just too stifling for innovation. $1.5B for “X-Labs.”

1/7: i don't think this is quite right in terms of first-order purpose, which is to invite you into the in-group. it's less "this is what we're believing" and more "this is the play we're running, you in?" it's this participatory aspect that makes it so powerful.

The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.
