So my housing association have moved me into a flat with a broken boiler. This property has been empty for several months so they had time to fix it but no one did. The boiler guy told me he told them about the issue in December. It will require scaffolding to access/fix Anyway I have no hot water

Why is it up to mental health patients to highlight that we do not want to be the canaries in the coal mine for these types of technology? We urge all Trusts to end their contracts with LIO Health and stop using Oxevision.

Anyone have non-patronising tips for coping with pain? Especially when there's uncertainty about the cause of the pain (so added anxiety cycle) Painkillers only taking me so far. Doctors uninterested. Awaiting surgery, although there's some disagreement over whether this is all gallbladder sth else

Something I've noticed over the past decade or so in mental health is the ease in which relatively newly qualified nurses or professionals move up the ranks to take on more senior/managerial roles. Seen it locally, nationally and it's evident in inquiries/investigations Why do you think this is?

Imo, NHS England and this Labour government cannot continue expect members of the Mad and Disabled community to continue to dedicate their lives to the kind of policy and implementation work that should be done properly, safely, legally, by NHS England.

It involves a front row seat to the very worst and most abject clinical neglect of one's peers, it involves Coroner's reports and it's an awful lot of collective mourning for people sho have been harmed and who have died. It's not work that can be switched off at 5pm.

It's great to see that Trusts are turning away from renewing contracts or commissioning Lio Oxehealth products. It's frustrating that it takes Mad people keeping up consistent campaign pressure (unpaid) over years to get Trusts to listen.

Oxehealth, the makers of Oxevision (now rebranded as LIO health), have long boasted that they supply 50% of NHS mental health Trusts in England. However, as a result of our campaign and increased scrutiny of the technology, we can now reveal this number is down to just 36%! #MadSky #StopOxevision

The Ministry of Defence says the alliance aims to "reorientate academia towards Defence and National Security", strengthen links between universities and the defence sector, and translate research into "battlefield advantage". Campaigners say the move represents a significant shift in the role of higher education and has taken place without meaningful public debate. Among the founding members are the University of Oxford, University College London, King's College London, the University of Manchester, the University of Edinburgh, Cardiff University and Queen's University Belfast. "We are witnessing the formal incorporation of Britain's universities into the defence ecosystem," said Jinsella Kennaway, Founder and Executive Director of Demilitarise Education. "The Ministry of Defence is explicit about its intentions. Universities exist to advance knowledge and foster critical inquiry, not to become pipelines for military research and defence recruitment. Students and staff deserve to know who agreed to this and why." Campaigners are calling on all 35 universities to publish the governance documents and board minutes relating to their decision to join the alliance, and to explain whether staff and students were consulted. Many UK universities already maintain relationships with major defence companies, including BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, Leonardo, Thales, Lockheed Martin and QinetiQ.
