Conservatives scaremonger to their base about the sexual threat posed by outsiders (migrants, liberals, queer folk) solely because the hypothetical victims here "belong to" conservative men. But they reserve the right for those same men to treat their own property however they wish.
If I were a foreign intelligence agency, and other people knew enough of what I did to vote me the best ranked foreign intelligence agency, I would simply disband and form a new agency that was better at keeping secrets.

I'm watching The Umbrella Academy, and there's an organization that's trying to keep the timeline "right" but their only tool for that seems to be murder.
this is literally what I do for a living and it's called "blameless root cause" where you identify everything that went wrong without assigning blame to any one person in particular. the NTSB really went all in on this and it's one of the reasons airplane travel is/(was?) so safe in the US.

"Just come here the right way" is one of the most pernicious lies in contemporary US politics, accepted across the aisle as the goal of the immigration debate when it's impossible in reality.
That graph doesn't show a Trump problem. There's been a steady bipartisan decline since the Obama era.

The Trump admin had a real theory of war: Put on a show of toughness, tell people how manly you are, disdain law, do war crimes, and you win. Earlier losses came from leaders too "weak" to do that. It was a very stupid theory. But they espoused it a lot, really seem to believe it, and acted on it.
