Bluesky is a "liberal bubble" because fascist chuds can't get traction without algorithmic assistance and because people here trained themselves to block "debate me" trybois the instant they roll up
Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
The CEO of Bluesky trying to make me know who the CEO of Bluesky is and my long standing opinion is that I demand to not know who it is
i wouldn't have built deck.blue if the nazis were here from the beginning and i'm sure that's the same for all the other 3rd-party developers that trust that atproto/atmosphere is the future of social networks
the "specific group of people" is what makes this platform good though, we don't want nazis here

my main concern is the harm rather than the output, so i don't really need to hear a product testimonial from someone who found it useful. because i don't care
I keep seeing posts about ai models like "actually they're good at this thing now!" but once you understand that ai tools are being built by fascists in service of attacks on humanity, whether or not they can generate useable code or do basic searches kind of stops being the main question
Happy 22nd Anniversary (a few days late) to JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED. I wrote seven episodes of JLU and it remains one of my favorite TV gigs.
It's weird when people bristle at the idea of abolishing billionaires. Are you a billionaire? Is your mum one? Why do you care? It would be good to abolish billionaires. More money for public services, less money for them to buy rape islands.
I continue to be disappointed when folks whose opinions I otherwise value do this on the regular. It’s just the absolute worst way to have a discussion and it’s exhausting to watch.
Quote-posting to mock/disagree/start a fight is pretty much always an instablock, just fyi. It's not something conducive to a good-faith discussion, no matter what the intent might be.

#EventsDearBoy 10. THE INFINITY GAUNTLET (1991, Marvel) *very Emily Wilson voice* your film neglects the themes of the text! Guy kills half the Universe to impress a woman who still thinks he's a weird creep; Jim Starlin's cosmic parable of male vanity and insecurity carries Lessons For Our Time
#EventsDearBoy 11. CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS (1985, DC) There are a lot of threads on DC Reddit about "does Crisis hold up" and for the olds it's one of the greatest works in the medium but for the youngs it's more like an ancient illuminated manuscript full of incredible drawings of weird snails
