There's something fascinating in the way that terrible AI "art" - at least in its current iteration - is making the visual realm weirder and more complex than before, rather than making it homogeneous in the way that most people following the evolution of AI and graphic design would have predicted.

When I first heard about AI being used for menus and advertisements, my concern was largely that it would be used to idealize the food and make it look better than it actually was. At no point did I imagine that restaurants would willingly put out horrific looking images of their food on purpose
