Joshua Bonehill-Paine
posted on social media that he was "tremendously proud" that he has been chosen to stand for election to Somerset Coun-cil, in the Crewkerne South ward.
Bonehill-Paine (inset) was jailed in 2016 after he was convicted of racially aggravated harassment.
He wrote several blog posts about the former Labour MP for Liverpool Wavertree, Baroness Luciana Berger, labelling her "an evil money-grabber" with a "deep-rooted hatred of men".
He was previously jailed for producing an ad illustrated with a picture of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz, which promised "an absolute gas" at a rally in Golders Green, north London.
Badenoch said: "I want to be very clear - and I think people can look at me and know that I'm not a person who would be recruiting neo-Nazis.
"Josh is someone who actually has been certified by the Home Office to train police officers on antisemitism and on countering extremism.
"Yes, he [has] previously convicted but he has shown contrition for his crimes, has been rehabilitated and is spending every day working to solve the very problem which he knew that he had caused previously.

Seeing what ‘uncensored’ social media today looks like regarding public health makes me more convinced that social media really ought to censor misinformation promulgated by grifters and lunatics during an epidemic.
This is genuinely shocking. CWGC cemeteries have survived intact under some pretty hostile regimes - including in Iraq - and the worst vandalism ever was done by the British Army.

I also think that the learning for a future pandemic is how to keep schools open as long as possible and how to mitigate harm if closures are necessary. Not hard to imagine a virus that e.g. is more virulent in children. A blanket "never close schools" policy in future pandemics makes little sense.
A lot of the usual university bashing going on with the obligatory "more young people should learn a trade". "What trade did you learn?" "Oh, I read PPE at Oxford?" "What trade is your lovely daughter Cythereia learning?" "Classics at Trinity College Cambridge."

And for a while it looked not only possible but in some ways probable looking at the polls a few months back. And yet they were trounced. They got nowhere near. That should be a big story.

It is becoming easy to believe that there are a lot of Americans who are very disappointed that Covid didn’t get to kill an additional million people in the USA. And they are doing everything they can to make sure the next pandemic is much more deadly.
reading the Southport Inquiry into the murder of 3 little girls (+ injury/trauma to many more), and the murderer's online history, and it's noticeable that they literally single out X as the only institution/company that refused to cooperate.
