Hyperspecific zines are fun for you, but they can also be palcatchers. I made a quartersheet sketchbook when I was first tabling that was just little bust portraits of writers of pulp & romantic adventure stories and only a handful of folks picked it up, but one of those has become a longtime friend

This is a very thorough statement and I support the artists collective. I truly hope there can be a positive resolution. I want there to be a thriving space for interesting, political, and queer comics, but that also needs to come with fair treatment to the artists who make those books.

I don't think people understand the degree to which outlets like The Atlantic and The New York Times set back trans rights with second-rate reporting that doesn't stand up now, let alone in the future. They have failed at the most basic journalistic duties.

Because “gender dysphoria” is a mutable men- tal state that is the object of psychiatric treatment, it does not resemble the immutable characteristics on the basis of which our precedents have applied heightened scrutiny— race, sex, or national origin. Instead, gender dysphoria re- sembles other characteristics on the basis of which legisla- tures may classify with a merely rational basis. See, e.g., Heller v. Doe, 509 U. Legislatures have many obvious rational bases to keep men who believe that they are women out of teams and private spaces reserved for women. See, people always want to make this just about "sports," but the real upshot here is that, 6-3, trans women can't make a claim under the Equal Protection Clause. And if they can't do that, it's hard to see how they have constitutional rights.
