The White House is actively beefing with military families and denouncing them as liars. And their supporters still let them get away with it. Imagine Obama calling Navy spouses lying communists or latte-sipping sissies for demanding better conditions during deployments, and Dems supporting it.
I want y'all to remember this...if it weren't for NBC and Mark Burnett...Trump would have been in an NYC breadline as all of his assets would have been seized to satisfy creditors.

And with how divided media is now, I doubt anyone has that level of popularity anymore. And it wasn't just his popularity, he was famous for being "a genius businessman". No one has that mix of TV celebrity appeal or apparent business acmen

All on a Speck of Dust in the Milky Way@inasilentdream.bsky.social · 13h agoThe real issue is that (IMO) they're going to just assume the Trump Dark Matter phenomenon is fungible to JD Vance or Marco Rubio or whoever the '28/'32 candidate is for the GOP, and I don't think that's particularly going to be in evidence.
I just have a gut feeling that no matter who Nancy Pelosi selected as her successor...you're going to have out of touch people that will complain that they won't do the things Trump has done/will do to sate them. It's like these people are made that most Dem voters do not want extremists in power.

Those choices are yours and yours alone...and people are laying out the options on the table and the consequences. So again...what exactly are YOU doing to help the democratic voters, and the democratic base win all elections in presidential level numbers?
So, what of it if you're a leftist...are you going to help do all the work and not get salty when your preferred candidate doesn't advance to fall? Are you going to drop the purity tests? Are you actually going to vote for the Dem nominee in the fall, and not vote for a loser like Jill Stein?
One more thing...there's a HUGE chasm of difference in being a progressive, and just being a chronically online leftist. a progressive will fight tooth and nail for change even at the local level in real life, and they know social media is ONLY a tool.
There's a lot of progressive ideas that EVERY Democrat wants to advance. However that requires first to rebuild the local base, then the state base, then the federal base. It's going to be hard work and you can't go "eh somebody else'll do it!" No you are going to have to be the one to do it.
Are you doing phone and text banking? Are you actively trying to run for office? Most of all are you actually VOTING in every election? What about doing candidate research in the primaries and voting your preferred candidate in the primaries? Are you going to swallow your pride?
So for those of you demanding the DNC dance for y'all like a monkey on an organ grinder...what are YOU doing to help the Dems succeed besides pissing on their legs and telling them it's raining? Are you going out to do door knocks and canvassing? Are you donating to your candidate?
Now, here's something that I have to remind everyone...the Democratic voters ARE the Democratic party. How many if y'all sat out with blue apathy going "Eh...somebody else'll do it!" That's now how that works and how the GOP can worm their way in places in deep blue states and fuck them up.
That is the Primaries is the ONLY chance to get your preferred candidate in the fall general elections. Also a lot of local general elections tend to happen in spring so voting in spring helps. Also there's special elevations that happens as well.
Every so often, I do get people who whine and complain that the Dem leadership should do everything...that's not how that works. If you want dems to change America then quit pissing on them and jump in to help. For real even voting in the primaries is step one.

The most direct piece of advice. You want more Dems in local state, and federal seats? Then do the walking and door knocking, and the phone and text banks and donate to the Dem candidates. The time to get your favorites in has long passed and November 3, 2026 is coming up fast.

Reminder that the UK fell first with Brexit! Far as I'm concerned, they do not get to sit with us the day we lose Biden (mourning) or the day the reaper collects Trump (celebration). A lot more will be shoved the same way.
