Chronic Pulmonary Aspergillosis and Nontuberculous Mycobacterial Pulmonary Disease: Two Peas in a Pod
We thank Denning and Kosmidis for reading our review on nontuberculous pulmonary disease (NTM-PD) and bringing attention to chronic pulmonary aspergillosis (CPA) [cite Denning and Kosmidis. Letter to the Editor]. Indeed, it is not uncommon for patients with NTM-PD to have co-infections with other pathogens, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and/or Aspergillus species. We agree that CPA is an important disease that can co-occur with NTM-PD, increasing management complexity and portending poorer outcomes.
