At the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco today, members of the United Video Game Workers union marched through the conference halls, with a mission to “build large-scale education campaigns about labor organizing in the video game industry.”

It occurs to me, after reading posts getting it spectacularly wrong, that there are a lot of misconceptions over how game studios organize and, in particular, who makes the actual decisions about what ends up in your game. Much of it is by folks who don't *try* to get it... but not all, surely. 1/🧵

This may only be funny to me, but I'm setting up a bunch of standard programming libraries and a lot of them brag about what projects use them. One of them names a bunch of boring software and then Death Stranding and then no other specific games
