I'm hesitant to post this bc I feel like I'm gonna jinx it, but if all goes according to plan I *should* be going to PAX U this year. I'm not *certain* yet because of finances, but I'm trying to do everything I can to be there

Daddy: "Okay kiddo, you know it's primary election day today in a lot of places? Not Colorado though. You remember ours was a few weeks ago? I'll give you a thousand points if you can tell me one person who's a candidate today." Kiddo: "Count Binface?"

To be clear: If “TTRPGs” in your scholarship, teaching, & outreach start & end with D&D — or even GMed games — that’s a skill issue you need to reconsider. You’re gonna get left behind.

I'd say the real reason all the establishment and centrist Dems are kicking and screaming is because the progressives have pulled back the curtain of plausible deniability on their latently-simmering conservatism, but hey, what do I know

I gotta say, I really don't enjoy live-streaming actual play (there are exceptions, and I LOVE live-streaming other stuff). But getting to do it on stage was a little magical. I'm not convinced it was for the AUDIENCE, but it was for me.

I really need people to stop saying that running tabletop role playing games is hard. Truly, madly, deeply it is not hard. Basically anyone can do it.

Since moving out of the arts, literally no one has ever asked me to do my work for free the way I was CONSTANTLY asked to do my job for free when I worked in the arts. The expectation that creative professionals provide their labor to you for free is WILD.

One of my goals was to just connect and not ask much of people beyond just talk about what we love doing. I think I was very successful. Sure a few interviews happened, one in particular I think has changed my mind on some things and I can't wait to publish it.

I'm blown away. Truly. The people I got to talk with this weekend, old and new, I feel so loved. I don't think 20's me would believe we would ever get here but damnit we are.
