I recently saw a friend set up their atproto account and realized how confusing the whole system is. I wish atproto had a much better cross-app login experience. Is there any work being done to unify/improve the UI/UX of the login flow? I think I recall seeing some ideas but I can't find them.

Two weeks ago I wrote about my development workflow for Chatto, and feedback has been fantastic. I'm particularly happy that it even made some of my AI hating friends go "okay, that's actually quite cool". We need to write more about our actual work, and in less of a preachy AI-salesperson voice.

I said it there but want to share: For most projects and people, atproto is an implementation detail, not a feature. If we as a community want widespread adoption of our tech, we need to move away from the jargon and offer something for non-technical folks.

So, I built a small app that tracks all Hacker News submissions over time, and allows you to set up custom triggers and basically curate your own daily summary. After using it for a few weeks, I am not sure what to make of it. Would this be interesting to anyone else? Happy to invite you to it :)

Had to check in for a flight today and the site kept saying "Unexpected Error" when I tried to enter my data. Got a React error in the console saying "maximum update depth exceeded". I was able to check in by typing more slowly. I guess only web developers are allowed to check in online 😅
A thing I want to point out about this is that I think it's a great use case for LLMs. It's a small-ish thing, one off, just for myself. Previously I would have thought about it but never done it. Now it only takes a few minutes. As bad as AI is in many cases, there are genuinely good use cases.
