Someone just asked me if Chatto has a Discord No, Chatto does not have a Discord

Any recommendations regarding people thinking deeply about how agents will affect organizational structure and process? There's a lot right now about "how does Joe and Jill get better at using LLMs" but not as much about "this is how an organization needs to change to maximize gains from LLMs".
This is a Awesome Chatto compilation I am working on over at Chatto HQ Community. Maybe it's useful for you guys. github.com/nickk-/aweso... Come on over to Chatto HQ for discussion and ideas for the next iterations of the list. V interesting stuff is being worked on, can't wait to include that!

I've seen maybe a few "ChatGPT use is fascism", "book scanning is modern book burning" and "data centers are the new concentration camps" too many to still believe that there is a future for global town square style social media. Bleak.
A media company waved a giant hoop and literally everyone jumped through it, you can't tell me Bluesky is dead
@pfrazee.com Come on, man, how about a "Block this user and all their mutuals" button?

Two weeks ago I wrote about my development workflow for Chatto, and feedback has been fantastic. I'm particularly happy that it even made some of my AI hating friends go "okay, that's actually quite cool". We need to write more about our actual work, and in less of a preachy AI-salesperson voice.
Chatto is Robots
Chatto is built with agentic engineering. Here's my workflow.

At risk of being elitist, I don't think the average person understands the massive amounts of focus that Software Engineers need. "Deskilling" is often just delegation. I can focus on the things that actually matter, to deliver on something, to firefight faster.
Sure, AI can make you more productive. But it can also do something so much more meaningful than that. brittany-ellich.offprint.app/a/3mrpzcvrhk...
People really seem not to understand that this witch hunting and dogpiling is going to end with brands and people simply using AI and not disclosing it. If you attack and punish people for transparency, the result isn’t going to be less AI. It’s going to be less transparency.
The irony of course, is that the thing that got Hank "caught" is his own, non-scripted phrase of "I appreciate the pushback here". It's wonderful (read: horrifying) to watch the scientific communication community condemn *Hank* rather than the unscientific witch hunt inflicted by zealots.
hank green is getting shredded for using AI for research the mob behavior seems to be effectively setting the incentives so that everyone uses AI but pretends they don't, and mobs anyone who admits they do what is the meta-incentive here. how does the mob benefit from this arrangement
AI hate mobs and GamerGate are the same movement
it’s worse than i thought… Hank’s audience merely heard him use a phrase in a video they thought *sounded* like AI, but it was just him adlibbing after viewers pointed it out, he clarified it wasn’t an AI line, but explained that he does use AI in the research process! then the pile on begin bleak
My computer just woke me up to tell me it's hungry. I'm not kidding 😂 During a long-running task, it noticed the battery was draining, set the volume to 100% using Computer Use, then opened Google Translate and hit "Listen" so I could hear it asking. Pardon my French, but what the fuck? 🤯
hard pill to swallow for atproto developers/creators: 99% of potential users either do not care about, value, understand, or want to “own their own data” i see so many apps/projects lead with this “value prop”, but it’s not an important or meaningful consideration for most people
It's a dumb movie but I love it so much (don't worry, it's not the only film that I've seen more than six times :b)
film you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. hard mode: no star trek, star wars, lotr, marvel, disney, or ghibli.
It's entirely possible that the fine folks at ChattoCorp (me) are releasing a second cool little self-hostable thing later this year. It's related to Chatto but also not!
so, for reasons ... I decided to try something 👀 👉 it's a skill that helps AI agents talk to humans if that's relevant to you, please let me know how you find it 🙏 ... and please help me make it better!

Yeah so my new HN account is getting downvoted for asking why it would be better for a simple cross-platform GUI app to be written in Rust instead of Node/Electron/etc. Nobody can tell me that it's even worth investing a mere second into that site.
On the 25th of August I'll be in Hamburg to talk to TechCamp Hamburg and we are organizing an impromptu svelte meetup with @hmans.dev if you are in town or near it join us for some svelte chatty evening!
I'm a little insulted that Chatto isn't even *on* the open-slopware list.
"LLMs mean you don't have to know things, you can just do things" assumes a clean separation that probably doesn't exist. You know what you want to do in part because of what you know / understand
