Today, the Independent Supporters Council is calling on FIFA to withdraw its proposal, on CONCACAF to take a stronger leadership role in opposing it, and on FIFA Member Associations to reject any proposal that puts financial pressure ahead of the long-term stewardship of the game.

This summer reminded us why the World Cup matters. It belongs to the supporters, players, volunteers, member associations, and communities that have built it over generations, not to outside investors seeking financial returns.
