If you can get generative AI to heavily optimize your code, that's kind of like the dark arts of coding. It has its place, it has its merit, but it requires great care because of the "black box" nature of such code creation.

This is the most important paragraph in the article, specifically the last sentence. Once you understand that Trump will always do whatever he wants and is never bound by even his own past deals/agreements then it is easy to come to Justin's conclusion that 'no deal' is the only logical response.

We're less than 48 hours before Trump's new 50% tariffs take effect — and Canadian negotiators are still trying to talk the White House out of it. But at a certain point, I argue, we just need to tell Trump to get bent. www.thestar.com/opinion/star...

When people were told "syphilis and tuberculosis are more prevalent among Black people", they didn't hear "immunity rates are lower in populations where the diseases are more novel" (what Woodson regards as the correct explanation), they heard confirmation of stereotypes already in circulation 5/

Caught on camera: The July 28 quake violently shakes a Yatsushiro hospital mid-surgery. The team shields the patient with their own bodies, and thankfully, the surgery was a success. Dr.Shimada: “They made an incredibly appropriate judgment and fully dedicated themselves to protecting the patient”

At last night's Alberta Prosperity Project townhall, a keynote speaker spouted a racist remark that drew warm applause from the audience. I won't repeat the vile comment here. You can find video elsewhere. But it is very troubling, if entirely unsurprising. +

Further update: I spent all last night trying to track down why I was getting wrong answers. The problem? Serialization. In my recent conference talks I've made this a point of pride about my library, being able to write compile time "object code" to file. 1/2

Update: I found the bug, it's because of how I introduced { operator = } to all my object oriented dual time generics classes, except for cotuple (I had reasons). No more infinite loop, but sadly some wrong answers are currently given. This is why I'm not a fan of C++ object oriented coding.

[cctmp] Today I almost got my library lexer translated into the new style, but there's some obscure infinite loop happening, and I have no idea where. I want to find it, but I have to work early in the morning, so it'll have to wait. So sad. Good night.

Finished work today. Normally I walk home but there's a tornado warning. I mentioned to my coworkers and bosses that it takes 1.5h to walk (it's true). after some days had past and further inquires, I let my bosses know it's partly because I only have so much money on my bus fare card. 1/2
