#AwesomeCharacters I notice, when I think about this, most of my main characters will tend to keep their anger under wraps at first. This is partly because they are in a kinda professional setting (they are pirates, yes, but ex-naval pirates!), but partly it's because I am like that too. 1/4

#SumLuv Let's start with Iona and Daphne this time 🦜💚🌴 because it's very simple for them. Lust at first sight, on both sides. Iona's thinking filthy thoughts from the jump (meetcute is in her POV) and Daphne is doing everything she can to encourage her. 1/3

Daphne sighed, rocking her head onto one hand. "You must forgive my mother. She's deeply suspicious of humans. She was betrayed by one she held dear once. She believes all humans are fickle and deceitful." Saints, her voice was practically laced with flirtation. Iona couldn't resist the bait. She moved closer and murmured, "Does she count you as fickle and deceitful?" Daphne shiffled closer, as if knowingly affording Iona a glance down at her ample cleavage. "I am half-dryad. She thinks my better half will win out." She dipped her head, and looked up at Iona through her lashes. Damn it, did she have any idea how cute that was? "What about you, First Mate? Are you fickle and deceitful?" Oh dear. The tone of voice, the coy smile under her bangs ... Come on. This was too much to be real. Maybe she wasn't being intentionally flirty. Maybe she was too sheltered to know what she was doing. No way. The look in those deep green eyes was far too knowing.

#AugCharWork Daphne has a positive change arc. If we're getting specific about the six narrative arcs, it's the Cinderella. Her life improves by running away with pirates and finding love with Iona (WANTS). Then it comes back down as her personal issues jeopardise those nice things (NEEDS). 1/2

After wandering through the galleries and halls for several minutes, she came across a balcony overlooking a beautiful garden with a pool shimmering bright and cool in the sunlight. It looked so deliciously refreshing, she was half-tempted to jump over the side of the balcony to get to it. And best of all, it was completely deserted. That was just what she needed. A peaceful swim in the sunlight, with no one else around to bother her. She hurried back inside. But by the time she’d found her way out to the garden, she discovered someone else had had the same idea as her. A boy about her age was perched on the base of a statue by the pool, lounging back against its leg and letting one of his own legs dangle down as he piped out a sleepy tune on a curved riina flute. “What are you doing here?” she barked. Her shout shattered the tranquility so violently that the boy’s skin nearly leaped off his bones. His pipe gave a startled squeak, and he sprang to his feet in a clumsy panic. “I wasn’t! I’m sorry! I didn’t think—!” he blurted, fumbling to hide the flute behind his back. But then his eyes found their way to her face, and he frowned. “Hold on, who are you?” “Mireia.” She swept her arm at him as though he were a bothersome fly. “And I want to be alone, so would you please leave?”

#SumLuv 8/02 The other post got a bit away from me, so I figured I'd make a second post for my superhero project, tentatively titles (Super)Enemies to Lovers. Please meet Quinn Sterling & Elena Merril. Quinn & Elena have been friends since birth...literally, their mothers were in hospital 1/5

Elena Merril is a black woman with a puckishly mischievous expression on her face. She has medium brown skin dotted with freckles across her nose and light brown eyes. Her black hair is styled in tight locs which frame her heart-shaped face. She has a septum ring (I forgot to include) and has multiple piercings in her ears. She tends to favour wearing band tees, and never forgets her bi pride pin. Art courtesy of Picrew, specifically the one by Maddel_art.Quinn Sterling is a tall, somewhat androgynous woman with a tightly muscled frame that she mostly covers with loose flannels. She keeps her dark brown hair cut very short, though a bit longer on the top so it spikes up a bit. For all her masculinity, she has large eyes with long lashes, with one green eye and one blue. “Who among us hasn’t…” Bruce paused, scrunching his eyebrows together and tapping his chin thoughtfully, “been naked in public?” Wren’s hand shot to her face, touching her finger to her nose as she looked around to see who else did the same. Her eyebrows crept slowly up as she realized she was the only one. “What? All of you?” “Skinny dipping,” Molly shrugged, leaning back against a pile of crates with her hands laced behind her head. Spencer’s face turned a little pink. It couldn’t be from the bright sun in the cloudless sky, not with that hat. The brim was wide enough to shade a small village. Bruce grinned and nudged his cousin roughly in the ribs. “You tell it,” he snickered while the priest groaned and covered his face. “Fine, fine! Stop elbowing me,” Spencer slapped at Bruce’s arm and faced Wren somewhat reluctantly. “We snuck into Saltbeard’s temple once to swim in the Seapool. One of the priests heard us splashing about and found our clothes. We had to make a run for it without them.” “We streaked across Temple Square and there were three full moons that night,” Bruce howled and pounded the deck so hard the boat sloshed a little in the water, prompting a rough yell from the bow. “Oi, quit playing grabass back there or I’ll dump you in the drink!” “Yes sir! So sorry Skipper!” Wren answered politely, kicking Bruce roughly in the shin. “It won’t happen again, sir!” Spencer added in solidarity and scowled at his cousin. “Why does this game keep ending with me admitting to embarrassing transgressions from my youth?” “That’s the whole point of the game,” Bruce looked to Molly for moral support. “If you’re not mortified, you’re not playing it right,” she agreed.

Second when she goes out to seek forbidden medicine for her patients. The kids are in their late teens. 1/2
