I recently got into a row with a FNV modlist creator about use of AI, this was their response after I said that I no longer trusted a modder after they said they used chatgpt to generated a modpage description. I was told I was a delusional hypocrite for using modern technology.

"Automated documentation tools have existed long before LLMs. So what difference is there in using that tool or an LLM? Functionally none. It is a ridiculous take and just because the people you associate with agree with you does not make it less so.

There is a difference between generative AI usage and feeding an LLM a description of your work to format for you. A willful inability to distinguish the acceptability of each is an ignorant take, and most likely a hypocritical one if you use any modern mobile device, a modern vehicle, modern operating system other than linux, any modern website, or pretty much anything developed in the past 5 years that uses any form of software."

I fucking hate AI almost as much as I hate the sniveling asshole billionaires and shithole corporations who have all forced it into every conceivable spot in our lives. It literally makes everything worse and it makes us worse and I fucking hate it.

The Republican Party has gone full mask-off Nazi; meanwhile the media narrative being pushed 24/7 is “ahhh! Democrats are being taken over by socialist radicals!!” and their terrifying examples are Miss Rachel, a doctor who wants you to have healthcare, and the friendliest mayor in American history.

Party that spent the last decade grooming and funding and encouraging blind nazi ideologues to run for office and government positions : uh oh

Have you ever thought "I think the Illiad would have been cooler with mech fights"? Is "they put politics in my wargame" a selling point? Do you sometimes wonder if Princess Iphigenia of Mycenae should have been given nuclear weapons? Then I have the book for you: ash-and-gold.itch.io/iphigenia

I love Jimothy becoming a big thing 'cause they're an adorable goober. But I also thinks it's really funny that like, Paizo made him an animal companion that grows alongside you. And D&D put out stat block so you can kill him 💀

Fellow authors: without any context, what’s the first line of your current WIP? "It came to pass in the Imperial year 320, when Makarios Oghma reigned in Axium (or 964 by the Juleain calendar) that the Diomecles family, heretofore Irike of Artabis and Tabiri of Axium, departed the Imperial city."

Fellow authors: without any context, what’s the first line of your current WIP? "Two months after the Five Minute War, Captain Yeung was chewing meditatively on his last ration bar and considering the options."

every fucking name generator is AI now. I don't need to create chemical runoff for a name generator. I want a little form put together by a random guy fifteen years ago that puts together vaguely themed words. I know I sound like "guy yells at cloud" but I'm going to yell at this fucking cloud

Yes, Henry Cavill is a great ambassador for the hobby, however, Peter Cushing would be my personal choice for 'Warmaster of Wargaming.' If I'm not wrong, I believe he has a copy of HG Wells' 'Little Wars' in the last photograph too. 👍

i am definitely up in my feelings about this one as someone who has survived several severe depressive episodes and grew up with a parent who was hospitalized/away from work for it multiple times he's been working to strip healthcare from people, and I would not be here without the ACA

Rep. Tom Kean finally speaks after months away from Congress for a previously unexplained absence: "I was given the diagnosis of depression ... the doctors recommended I remain in the hospital to address my illness"
