My photo shows a museum display of gold octopus-shaped ornaments excavated from Grave IV, Grave Circle A, Mycenae, Greece. Each octopus ornament measures 6.8 cm in diameter and has seven writhing arms with suckers. The coiled tips of each arm create small holes which would enable them to be sewn onto fabric. They were probably sewn onto a funerary garment or shroud. Dated 1,500 BC. National Archaeological Museum Athens.

Over the past few days of #TourDeFleece26 I’ve been spinning this gorgeous BFL/Silk hand dyed braid. This blend is my favourite, the sheen, the softness, it spins like butter. Braid is from Pigment & Ply, one of my favourite UK yarn dyers. 🧶 #HandSpinning

…my fireplace now painted a dark purple, the shade is called burnt orchid. The board over the place where fire should be is decoupaged in teal paper with moons and suns.
