My 5th annual free Nanticoke River Invasive Fishing Derby, presented by @salisburyuniv.bsky.social, sponsored by Coastal Conservation Association MD, was another success at getting anglers out to target invasive species! We caught 250 invasive fish, totalling 500 lbs & got trained some new anglers!🐟

Climate.us is officially live! After NOAA ended Climate.gov’s day-to-day operations in 2025, former team members built Climate.us to carry that work forward. Their explanations and graphics have always stood out to me as clear, accessible, and transparent. I’m really looking forward to this reboot.

It’s that time of year again.. if you see turtles crossing roads/out in the open/digging, they are doing their normal behavior. They are searching for a spot to lay some eggs. Leave it be, unless it’s in a road, then carefully pick it up & move it to the other side in the direction it was going 🐢

Residents in Fayette County, Georgia noticed their water pressure was unusually low. Turns out that a data center 20 miles away had been drawing 30 million gallons of water in secret through connections the county didn't know existed. Is it any wonder why so many are opposed to data centers?
When I tell people who are older than me that I’m a professor, I get “oh so you’re in school to be a prof?” more often than “what do you teach/research?” 🤦♂️ I’m finishing my 5th year now & apply for tenure in the fall. At what point/age will people start believing that I have the job I say I have??
