Apparently the government is against moving the AI frontier until jailbreaks are solved. For the uninitiated, jailbreaks have existed since the beginning and as far as we know so far, cannot be solved. They are asking for technical alignment and pretending it’s a casual bug patch.

we’re not going to be sending slaves to the moon. workers are going to be extremely skilled and well compensated (because they are going to the moon). there are no migrant laborers to exploit (it is the moon). there is no one to be exploited out of their land (moon, again).

man this is exactly correct right down to the music. i instantly felt like it was 5:30am and i was sitting in my living room folding up newspapers so i could out and deliver them.

this is unironically the best case for punitive taxation there are arguments about fairness and freedom and whatever else but at the end of the day it is self-evidently far too dangerous for society as a whole for anyone to have that much money, the end
