Watching film noir and drinking pinot noir.

Opened in 1908, this 14 story, 250 room hotel had all of the amenities a fine Edwardian could possibly want. Very fancy. A coffee shop with a table d’Hote dinner? I’m in! I’ll have the Prime Rib dinner with boysenberry pie, please 🍽️ New Washington Hotel Seattle 1947 #VintageMenus

Love this programming juxtaposition of LA noirs. The Hollywood searchlights story played out in studio offices and star mansions vs. the leafy residential neighborhood where the failed young dancer settles for the older man who's a big fish in a much smaller entertainment pond. #TCMParty

TCM’s Summer of Darkness won’t get more “A-picture” than SUNSET BOULEVARD, tonight’s leadoff film. But stay tuned, afterward, for one of the great under-appreciated noirs. A bleak tale of adultery and murder, THE PROWLER pulls no punches and avoids cop-out endings. #TCMParty

My fav moment at #NoirCity so far was before SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS (1957) when Eddie asked the audience *not* to recite the lines in unison w/ the actors. And to prove how necessary a request it was, he said a line — and about half of us yelled the follow up. "Don't do that!" he laughed. #FilmSky
