‼️'MPs have had their stomachs pumped.' 🍺 Turns out Hannah Spencer was right when she said that Westminster's drinking culture is “unprofessional and worrying” and leads to “questionable and dangerous behaviour”. ⏳️ It's time to end Parliament's drinking culture.

Very disappointing from the new Prime Minister, very much sounding like the previous PM. These are among the world’s most vulnerable and desparate people. They need safe routes and humanity from responsible politicians, not grandstanding. This isn’t doing politics differently.

Burnham pledges to be "relentless" in curbing small boat crossings

Why is it, do we think, the media have basically memory holed the fact the UK government fucked about with covid, made dreadful, idiotic decisions, tens of thousands died unnecessarily and they got pissed and robbed us blind in the process. And are instead asking if not enough teachers died?

BBC live coverage of the Manchester count is doing a really half-arsed job of trying to persuade people it's still possible that the Reform candidate could win. Who indeed knows whether more of the second preferences of the Green candidate might go to Labour than Reform? It's all to play for.

Very happy to add my name. Long admired this initiative and especially so the many cyclists who clearly enjoy the 'carefree' safety the work gave them. Finish it please and other authorities replicate it exactly to make everyone safe. Saving cycling as a sound principle too. 🙏

I observe that the vast majority of those people saying that Burnham is a huge disappointment are people who predicted he would be exactly what he is. It's one of the most grating aspects of politics in the social media age, the sheer dishonesty that underpins those who claim moral virtue.

How about politicians, Nigel? Do you think that MPs and party leaders who consort with and promote rapists and paedophiles should also be jailed ... meme via The Raging Left

Burnham just made a huge mistake over Scottish independence. He stuck to the old ‘just say no’ position of his unionist predecessors. Instead he could have launched a constitutional convention and robbed the SNP of its ability to weaponise Westminster high-handedness In @heraldscotland.bsky.social
