Jev looks really cool. a way to leverage techniques from generative AI that isn't actually *generating* anything, just classifying or answering questions, cheaply and efficiently. way way way fewer ethical concerns with something like this, and it's also like 300x more resource efficient than a LLM

cynical take - 1mil at 70USD is 70 mil. chop off 30% for platform fees, now we're 49mil. Assume the publisher is 100% recoup, that's 9 mil. Then the split after... let's be GENEROUS and say 50/50. Final income for 1mil sales is: * $4.5mil for studio * $44.5mil for pub * $21mil for platform holders

for a lot of people, actually probably every person to some extent, there are just two points on the timeline, the decision to do something, and the result there's a lot of superficial going through the motions we're expected to do in our day to day and AI reflects that to a degree

I had this thought on one of my walks this week, that I think a lot of people who are plugged into how bad AI is aren't in touch with how a lot of human activities are surface level enough that AI is actually accurately recreating or replacing it
