Something we should also keep in mind is that Galton is often treated as the “father of statistics” due to his work on correlation and other areas in stats. We might also keep in mind that he developed these tools for the purposes of eugenics and scientific racism.

OG eugenicist Francis Galton should be a cautionary tale but instead I fear we will soon have The Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Francis Galton Centers for Disease Control and Eugenics. Have a listen to see how history is rhyming its ass off in the area of eugenics and to learn about “cocaine science”.

I think folks can on some level intuit what's going on here, but it's important to spell it out too: UK transphobes who think themselves left of center believe trans people are cis people who simply need to stop being trans. It very easily squares the circle for them and lets them sleep at night.
