Friends, are you or do you know any graphic designers who are free to take freelance gig on a short notice? Experience in tabletop games is a huge plus! If so, please contact me!

I feel like we don’t talk about millennials in particular, hitting our 40s - in earlier generations many of us would be reaching the peak of our careers, but because of disaster after disaster, locust after locust eating our industries, many of us are on our 3rd or 4th fresh start.

Caught up with the second-to-last Mission Impossible on a whim, and whatever they fed Pom Klementieff, it worked. If I was a feral French assassin, I would definitely hope I looked that cool.

Quote-posting myself, what has the world come to? A key problem here is that to be able to answer the question of what's best for a show/book/movie/game, you need to have an ironclad and agreed-upon understanding of what you are making and why the average audience member should enjoy it.

"Make it so this is as enjoyable as possible," and "Make it so that nobody is confused at any point," are two different goals. There's a lot of overlap in that Venn Diagram, but it is not a circle! Clarity should only be a goal inasmuch as it makes the art more enjoyable.

this era of the games industry will be remembered as one of the most brutally pointless periods. billions upon billions spent on... nothing. countless lives upended. such a profound waste of talent and what could have been.

Link's Awakening was the first game that showed me there could be more than being terrible at Tetris. The world felt *huge* and so well-realised, it had characters(!) with little lives, exploration, and an epic soundtrack. Took me years to finish since I lost the cart down the back of the sofa.

A screen from the original Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, a game Boy game. In black and white pixel art, a beach scene is shown. Framed from behind and looking out towards the water, a young hero sits next to the girl that rescued him after a shipwreck. Birds fly in the distance.

What's your "origin" video game? Most gamers have a lot of favorite games, sure, but there's always one that basically 𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 you. I'm talking about the game that flipped that little switch in your brain and made into a life-long gamer. So, which game is 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨?

Silent Hill: Townfall is good — very good, in fact. Especially the sequence in a municipal-style high rise building which plays like a slow-burn, Ballardian take on The Raid. It's a game less of psychosexual terror than psychosocial dread: I was hooked. www.theguardian.com/games/2026/s...
