It’s hilarious to me that everyone in America apparently hated lockdowns because my experience in Amsterdam was a few weeks of working from home while various neighbors performed afternoon concerts from their apartment balconies over the shared courtyard, ie, IDYLLIC

I spent my daily “worry time” today stressing about the ongoing climate catastrophe 😵💫 I am fully convicted that, with moderate effort, our world is repairable. It just takes a willingness to make less short term profit.

Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.
I think it also revealed just how quickly a bunch of otherwise very hard problems can be to solve with global collective action. The fuckin Ganga was running clear water for the only time in my lifetime because for 2 weeks nobody threw garbage in it. The canals in Venice had fish.

That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

Claude and Gemini are often correct. And they both point out real sources that I hadn't seen. Which is useful! But "often correct" isn't good enough. Road directions where 75% of the street turns are correct is not going to get me to the destination.
The short version is: after a month the AI has not given me any good reasons to trust it, and I am honestly freaked out by the confidence with which it weaves completely wrong facts into prose, and the confidence with which it writes and professionally formats entire sections of bullshit.
