Having watched In the Mouth of Madness (1994) again, I'm convince the scariest bit of the movie is the dog running from the kids. That's the bit that gets me; not the jump-scares or the gribblies. Just that poor dog, eternally fleeing from the children.

Some things are simply Not For Me. Often, I can tell that such a thing is Not For Me without formulating a meaningful opinion about the thing itself, or what it being Not For Me says about it or me. And, because it's Not For Me, I'm not going to formulate such an opinion unless someone is paying me.
