One of the infuriating things about depression is having all the things you want to do and all the joy you experience with them be locked behind a window with no way of letting them out. You can see them, but you can’t do anything with them. Why? Because your brain says so.
Only ✨ten✨ away from my goal on my novella's one year anniversary! It's been my *slowest* year of sales in *years*, so getting to 100 would be a joy. Thank you so much to folks giving it a try! I hope you love it! Now let's see if we can't get ten more sales before midnight 👀 [ #booksky ]

#HorrorWritersChat I’ve ruminated on doing The Thing in the old Wild West. Cowboys, mines, gloopy goodness. I know it’s been done in Viking era though so want to be careful not to be derivative…
Make horror history with a new setting. Q4: #HorrorWritersChat - Choose an existing horror IP or horror creation and add it to an historical period different from its origin. Share your idea. ---- Outro in 10 mins
#HorrorWritersChat According to my more close readers, quite a lot! Missing/deceased parents, paranoia over those around you, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, all the usual fun and games. Almost all of my work has my mental health past weaved through it, for better or worse…
Making it personal. Q3: #HorrorWritersChat - In what ways has your own history (past) impacted or inspired your horror writing? Examples: giving a character your childhood trauma, reimagining an experience with a different ending.
#HorrorWritersChat As much as is relevant. Most of our actions - especially the horror ones - are born of past traumas, so they do pop up. Otherwise, the fact so many monsters come from mundane beginnings appeals to me…
Even fictional characters have a past. Q2: #HorrorWritersChat - How much history, how much of a past, do you give your horror characters? Share an example.
I am here!! Discombobulated and unfocused due to the prolonged heatwave, but still here! Hello! I'm Gree, writer of body, psychological, and religious horror! Oooo, this is a tough question, actually! Do works like Bram Stoker's Dracula count? #HorrorWritersChat

Hello #HorrorWritersChat, my name is Rami Ungar, I write horror and dark fiction, and some of my favorite historical fiction stories include The Hunger by Alma Katsu, Jerusalem's Lot by Stephen King (not Salem's Lit, but it's kind of prequel novella), and, of course, Sinners.

The thought of going to the library to do book edit is strong today. Hopefully stronger than the thought that everything outside is terrifying and will damage me.
When the weather gets colder i think of one of my favourite horror novels, THE AUCTIONEER by Joan Samson. A quiet little nightmare about giving your soul away in pieces so small you don't even realize you're doing it. Wintry rural horror. Can't recommend it enough.
"Oh, you're an author, anything I'd know?" The question is really, "Are you a household name?" And I'm sorry, grocery store cashier, but I don't think anyone who was would be shopping here. I tend to just say, "Probably not." But they don't like that answer. #writingq #WritingCommunity
What’s one question you’re tired of answering as a writer? If I have a book published. Not because someone wants to actually read it, but more so they can classify me as a “real” writer…or not #writingq #WritingCommunity

One thing im having to keep an eye on in this edit is the page count. Currently at 365 but need to whittle that down to less than 350 due to book production costs/postage. You may think this means removing a lot of words. It actually means making them slightly smaller…
Done the edit of the New Book’s prologue. Work needed, but by golly is it exciting. What did I say about not enjoying editing?
So excited to see more sales on Kobo this week 😍 Buuuut Kobo has the highest payout threshold of any ebook distributor... And I need ONE more sale to make payout It would be so cool to hit that today so I'll get the payout in time for my birthday at the end of August 👀

Finished writing book last night, now in the vague zone between a fresh project and editing the next release. Kinda floaty. Kinda unanchored.
A dimension hopping cosmic horror. The Yavvis = complete.
How dare this very accurate post call me out in such a way.
