1.5 years is an agonizingly long time to not have elected representation. Big congrats @niluj.bsky.social.

Big thanks to SDOT for this step towards better connectivity in this area and to the future Pinehurst station.
We reached final design for the 1st Ave NE Shared-Use Path. The path makes it easier to get to James Baldwin Elementary School & Northacres Park. It connects to new walking & biking facilities on NE 130th St, Sound Transit's Pinehurst Station & the new Route 77 bus. www.seattle.gov/transportati...
Also worth noting how her story has changed on why her store in Ballard closed in... <checks notes> ...January 2025.
Thank you to the Finance, Native Communities & Tribal Governments Committee for unanimously approving my amendment for $300,000 to LGBTQ community organizations to support emergency shelter/housing, food access, employment support and other essential needs. (1/4)
What "hearing from local businesses" means. Local small business owner blames Katie Wilson's 7 months as mayor for the last 13 years of incompetance by the Seattle Police Department. Wants to make the emerald city great again.
Probably the last day to go for a walk or spend some time outside in Seattle for awhile before the smoke rolls in. airqualitymap.ecology.wa.gov
Happy to see CM Rivera and the mayor working together collaboratively and supporting each other.
We’re delivering all‑day, year‑round preschool, universal free school meals, free mental health care for teens and young adults, and clear pathways to good jobs. @cmmaritzarivera.bsky.social
A great day to remember +30% of Oregon's carbon pollution comes from transportation, yet ODOT, Governor Kotek + the legislature are defunding transit while advancing multiple multi-billion dollar freeway expansions that will only make Oregon's air pollution and carbon emissions even worse #orpol
The climate crisis is accelerating. We’ve got a Mayor + some city councilors running cover for Zenith Energy. We’ve got a state legislature captured by corporate $ facilitating a data center build out for these energy sucking monsters. Let’s get serious, shall we?
Has Sound Transit CEO Dow Constantine held a press conference about the train derailment yet?
Just want to check I didn't miss anything. Dow Constantine still hasn't held a press conference about the downtown portion of the system being shut down for 14 hours right?
Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson has signed the SEPA reform bill into law.
A 5-4 Seattle City Council vote yesterday means city-level appeals that have delayed significant citywide zoning changes in the past will be extinguished. Conventional appeal options to Superior Court or the state growth hearings board will remain. Story: www.theurbanist.org/seattle-coun...
Is sound transit's CEO Dow Constantine really meeting the moment right now? Where's the communication about the train derailment? How many hours should we expect to be without a press conference to answer our questions?
The Yale slip lane is now permanently closed, with Boren handling all I-5 traffic! We had a great time meeting the SDOT crew and can't wait to see the improvements this will bring for the L8! We'll head back down later today to share some more photos after everything is fully installed.
How is Seafair more powerful than FIFA in Seattle? Holy hell
The decision to “open” the Rainier Ave bus lanes to cars is going about as well as you’d expect.
Someone was SNATCHED the NEXT DAY from the Seattle Center! They went back to clean up after a mass shooting and got kidnapped to be sent to a concentration camp!!!
"Should we recall the mayor for firing the very well paid out-of-state cop?" FUCKERS PEOPLE ARE BEING SENT TO CONCENTRATION CAMPS RIGHT NOW
There has been ICE activity over the last week and this weekend on Aurora Ave N. Agents were spotted camping out in the Home Depot parking lot. Watch out for each other if you're around the area.
Just found out about the summer cinema series in the CID at Hing Hay. See you there?
Evacuations from the Meadowview Fire have now merged with evacuations from the Old Trails Fire. These are Level 3 (GO NOW!) evacuations.
One day Aurora Ave will have something like Lake City Summerfest.

Council when Wilson nearly pulled her shelter legislation after they tried to poison it: "we are a co-equal branch independent of the executive in decision making." Council when the mayor fired the appointed police chief: "we demand that the executive involve us in their decision making"
On Friday, Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson defended her decision to ask for Police Chief Shon Barnes’ resignation, which he proffered Thursday. Several councilmembers have lambasted the move. Story: www.theurbanist.org/wilson-and-c...
Danny Westneat joins the Seattle Times in full scale war against Mayor Katie Wilson, which is no surprise but another example of the Brandi Kruse-ification of local establishment media. They've gone from providing independent reporting and analysis to using their perches for a partisan agenda.
Seattle City Hall rarely runs smoothly. This week it hit new lows
The spectacle of the neophyte mayor and the frequent flyer police chief, both failing at their jobs when they were needed most, is not going to pass lightly.

Shon Barnes just wanted to enjoy the air show this weekend with his family.
Blue Angels air show canceled at Seafair due to wind
I'm remembering the press conference when Adrian Diaz resigned as SPD Chief, and he was practically in tears, and Mayor Harrell kept him on the SPD's payroll while delivering a spectacle for the press.
Would love to see more emphasis on the "Green" part of Greenway by planting more trees. It is hot without them
We just sent the following letter to Seattle Leaders and the organizers of Seafair asking them to learn from the success of FIFA and to implement a better transportation plan that is less car centric in the coming years. drive.google.com/file/d/1zoD5...

We saved Ballard rail but died along the way.
Sound Transit says that with existing funding and cost estimates, it will take until 2060 to get rail to Ballard. They believe that if all new funding needed is secured by 2033, and cost savings achieved, they can get to Ballard by 2042.
Why is our mass transit subsidizing cars
Here are some more facts about MLK: 1) MLK is already designated as a future bike route in the Seattle Transportation Plan. 2) SDOT has already conducted studies with preliminary designs for fewer lanes on MLK. 3) Graham Street Station is being designed to maintain four lanes at exorbitant cost.
The attitude of entitlement to an entire neighborhood is wack
I lived on Latona NE. That area was rezoned and the old house next-door to where I lived could easily be torn down & an apartment built there. it's a fairly large lot on a corner on Latona. Would I want that to happen? no! I bought in a single-family neighborhood. Paid a premium 4 it.
