Hey @transportation.seattle.gov can we tell these drivers not to drive in the bus lane??
A bus lane is only as good as the drivers who stay off of it.

The exact phrasing we were told is that it would “blow up the network”

Big news everyone, Seattle is entering its final phase. Perhaps this will be our ultimate form.
The Mayor was essential for getting the Denny Way bus lanes across the finish line, but this project would not have been prioritized (it was her first executive order) without pressure from advocates. Congrats again to the @fixthel8.bsky.social team!
3 years ago when canvassing Denny Way, I don’t think anyone really thought this was possible (even me). It was eye opening hearing so many bus riders assume that cars and traffic were always gonna be more important than their mobility. A year ago they were right but now we have a new mayor!
🚨🗓️RESCHEDULED TO SUNDAY🗓️🚨 SDOT let us know that work won't be ramping up until Saturday night so we are rescheduling to Sunday morning at 11 instead! Hope you can still make it!

Markings are in place at Denny and Boren for the big switch for I-5 traffic starting this Saturday. Temporary signage is currently giving drivers a warning about the closure of the Yale slip lane.
“For years, @gordonofseattle.bsky.social, executive director at Seattle Streets Alliance, heard that it wasn’t possible to build a bus lane on Denny Way. “The Harrell administration said bus lanes on Denny were impossible,” he said, “and now we have bus lanes on Denny.” That’s leadership

GOOD NEWS: Katie Wilson's proposed Seattle Transit Measure renewal will be maintained as a full ten-year, 0.3% measure after amendments to water it down were defeated. The council is still deliberating on other amendments, but those were the big ones on deck today.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Seattle City Hall today to speak up for more bus service in Seattle! Some amendments to the Seattle Transit Measure would cut its funding, shorten its duration, and slow the delivery of new service. Transit riders turned out in force to give public comment.

New sidewalk open on Denny Way! Glad the sidewalk sheds are gone and people can walk on wider sidewalks between Minor and Stewart.
We met with @seattledot.bsky.social Tuesday to go over the Phase 2 designs for Denny Way bus lanes and left very impressed. It was clear that the team shares our values and put in a lot of thoughtful effort to make sure that the bus lanes are a success. Thank you SDOT, can't wait for August!
The @fixthel8.bsky.social Denny Way bus lanes are going to help Route 8 riders a ton. But I bet they are going to help all other riders plus all taxpayers a ton too. How many service hours are wasted when Route 8 drivers sit in traffic? How many more buses could we run elsewhere?
Couldn’t agree more! We’re counting down the days until August. Until then, we’ll be late.
Could have really used those Denny bus lanes today. Soon!! #votingmatters
