What I love about this scene is she knew he was going to support her no matter what she wrote, but she knew she would cry no matter what he said. He knew she would cry no matter what he said, and he knew he would support her when she did. It’s all predetermined and all still meaningful.
thinking about all the artists who seem to wear working several all nighters to grind out their art as a badge of pride. It's okay to break yourself if that makes you the best artist in your field. They'll tell you it's worth it and then be sad when a peer dies terribly young.

You don’t really need a budget to do indie animation, the problem is “indie animation” has been reduced to bigger budget/studio works with insane frame-by-frame animation, a big crew/voice cast and a merch line instead of scrappy shit you make in a week by yourself or with some friends in Flash.
