Vance's release date is June 16! Also searching communion by bell hooks or communion book hooks, etc. is a fun and free way to keep hooks near the top of search results.

I have a new story out! And I'm so proud of it! I hope you like it as much as I do ✨🎺🥤 Thanks to @stevexisxok.bsky.social for one of the most encouraging, enlightening editorial processes I've experienced. I can't recommend submitting to OKD enough!

"I'll walk through the front door and everyone will cheer, like I'm a fan favorite in a sitcom." "All the Friends I Could Have Made are Having Fun Without Me" by @mackenziemcgee.bsky.social, new flash fiction out today at OKD. 📝

an important thing to remember in the "is this what they voted for" discourse is that the average voter is so fucking dumb that it would bend your understanding of the human mind

The guy answering phones at Rep. Mann's Manhattan KS office said that basically no one else has called to express concern over the leak putting our military in danger. USAID matters. I've often disagreed with their strategy and choices, but their work saves more lives than any philanthropy can. It's a rounding error in the federal budget, and one of the best things we do as a country. To see it destroyed overnight by one unelected man is an unmitigated horror.

What he's announcing is a concentration camp. A deeply illegal, unconstitutional, anti-human rights atrocity. Anyone who supports this is complicit. Anyone in any federal service, military or otherwise, is morally obligated to refuse to carry out any orders related to this deeply criminal act.

Trump announces an executive order authorizing a 30,000 capacity migrant detention center in Guantanamo. "Some of them are so bad we don't even trust the countries to hold them because we don't want them coming back, so we're going to send them out to Guatanamo Bay."

Hi! Some-time lurker, first time poster. For this week’s @newyorker.com, I dove into a romantasy plagiarism lawsuit that raises deeper questions about tropes, authorship, and the grubby imperatives of selling books in a post-literate world. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

Did a Best-Selling Romantasy Novelist Steal Another Writer’s Story?

Tracy Wolff, the author of the “Crave” series, is being sued for copyright infringement. But romantasy’s reliance on standardized tropes makes proving plot theft tricky.
