“we all agreed rape jokes are bad” was about lazy men using rape as a shocking punchline to dehumanize women in like tweets and standup routines don’t use that same maxim to run around demanding survivors of abuse discuss what happened to them only in somber, sad reverence.
Implying or pushing for any art to be illegal will force survivors to out themselves. It will force creators writing educational things in subversive ways into legal trouble or bans (at best). It will remove the most realistic stories about trauma. Not to mention harming queer & disabled people too.
Censoring, and especially making noncon/underage art illegal also literally endangers victims. When antis report artwork, where no real person is experiencing trauma, it clogs moderation teams. NCMEC and other orgs don’t care about art. It doesn’t identify real kids. It doesn’t stop predators.
