If you're blue in a state that went red, your voice still matters. Call your republican representative's and senator's offices and request for them to vote Jeffries and Schumer for house and senate minority leaders.

I suspect the real place for Democrats to solidify this win will be at the state and local level. That's where Ds have the chance of IMMEDIATELY making change and helping people in their everyday lives. Push your local pols to Mamdanify the shit out of the entire country, y'all. And BRAG about it.

Important update: after previously signaling that it would cave to Trump's pressure, Michigan has announced that it will be restoring Medicaid coverage of gender-affirming care for trans youth. Pressure works, y'all. Don't let up on Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Virginia.

Colorado & Michigan have become the latest blue states to end Medicaid coverage for trans youth. Solidly blue Colorado will also be IMMEDIATELY shutting off care for all trans kids receiving puberty blockers—despite Trump's rule allowing a 6 month ‘tapering’ period. This is a complete betrayal.

The point of the Stephen Miller news is to scare you. Don't give them that power. Mock them right now and stay focused. Yell at your elected representatives if they don't prosecute him. They want you in the fetal position. Stand up.

When Democrats have the power, we have to use it. Universal childcare. Paid leave. Medicare for All. Abolishing ICE. No more incrementalism or moderating our aspirations. We need to do the work of repair, restoration, and reconstruction.

And for our next trick, Bioware will find its way to being an independent studio in an alliance of other independent studios that eventually regulate the video game industry's gross excesses and kick out incompetent leader ship and venture capital.

I had thought it was (fittingly) cartoonish, but seeing the corrupt, unethical, humanity despising/exploiting right wing and tech industry suddenly implode because they couldn't do basic reality checks... is exactly like Futurama's 80's business guy dying of easily treatable boneitis.

The WSJ is out with an editorial suggesting there was no need for “all the hyperventilating about what Mr. Trump might do” to meddle with the midterms—after all, they went forward without incident. I think that's as wrong as wrong can be, and say so in my new Cato post.

It Was Failed Election Meddling, Not Absence of Election Meddling

Yes, the Trump administration attempted to meddle in the 2026 midterm elections, even if the meddling didn’t work.

Alright, we've had a few victory laps, take a few more if you feel like it, but the reality of people who showed up including a large chunk of "gas price too high, that's why I voted", needs to start settling in. It means we need to conserve strength and build more community, not rest on laurels.

"Cyclops Soft Paneer Burger" I think if someone orders this, reality will begin to unravel, and for the brief amount of time between then and the unstoppable end of all things, we will have a hearty laugh and feel great relief that it was just that easy to escape.

Oh, hello! I didn’t see you there. Anyway “healing the nation” by doing nothing has not only never worked, it also always sends the message to evil people that the only consequences they will ever face for selling out their own country will be mild inconvenience

THIS JUST IN: Democrats have FLIPPED the Texas State Board of Education! This is a monumental win for Texas students, families, and the entire education community in our great state. Congratulations to our incredible candidates!

I hope everyone realizes this is why MTG and Tucker Carlson were trying to disengenuously jump ship earlier this year. "Yeah we're left wing now" was just them being slightly more adept at admitting where the momentum is at, even though it was only for the purpose of making money in their case.

The worst move when you have the upper hand over a person who has just tried to kill you or other innocent people is to try to claim moral high ground. Gather the evidence, use the evidence, and prosecute fully. No quarter.
