Postman’s Park in London has one of the best memorials in it. They have a wall of tiles naming people who died while trying to save others. My 80s kid brain feels vindicated by this particular tile. Clearly, quicksand was a real threat somewhere. At some point.

So many districts and some states making moves right now to focus on paths to learning that develop lifelearning competencies and deep important knowledge vs superficial, temporal test-only learning. Learning can be challenging, accessible, and interesting. Mi, Nv, Ky are a few of those on the move.
