Currently experiencing sticker shock at my dermatology co-pay under my marketplace health insurance - still unemployed. Little more motivation to figure this out.
Was on his way to a Maddux and Hinch pulls him. What the hell. #DetroitTigers

My annual Mother's Day post. Because some people had great mothers but lost them, some had or have mothers who never mothered them or stopped mothering them for some reason, treated them as adversaries or as worthless, and Mother's Day can be a punitive day for all those for whom this is true.
At the airport to head home after having joined my good friend on her weeklong cross country move to LA. Feeling gutted.

Before I became an American, I was Lebanese. Parts of my family live in Lebanon. Anyway, you don't need those bona fides to feel this way, but what is happening in Lebanon right now is a complete outrage. The people there, who mostly are just trying to carve out a living, don't deserve this.

Why we can't leave pigeons out of our queer revolution
Just like they're doing with pigeons, some people are trying to push queer people out of society and out of existence.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.
Our newly formed trivia team All Heat No ICE won our inaugural competition at Ferndale Project tonight with 67 points for a $25 gift card. Second Game is starting shortly.
Going to bed having waited for the “oops” and realizing it won’t come until our boots are on their necks.
If you're living somewhere outside the USA, one thing you can do is pressure your leaders to boycott World Cup and Olympic events here.
bro there’s a gofundme to crowdfund attorney fees for a preschooler who was kidnapped by our federal government and shipped across state lines and his senator is posting about high school hockey while every other elected official is debating whether to give a zillion more dollars to the kidnappers

Instead of whatever this is, we should have a government getting lots of new homes and apartments built, lots of clean energy built, lots of high speed rail and transit and bike lanes built, human rights for everyone, economic & healthcare opportunities for all, & innovation that leads the world.
