Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

Checking cupboards and playlists for *ANY* Argentinian products…. Damn, nothing to boycott. Useless short-man syndrome, nazi shelter, cowboy posing, macho mothers’ boys, preening losers.

Sam Neill was one of the NZers I already knew about when I met Sandy in 2001. Been amazing seeing all his work since, he is one of the great actors. But what a man, what a good bugger, what a staunch ambassador for all that is truly great about Aotearoa. Farewell to a bloody legend.💔

The Resistance isn’t about one person. It’s about millions of people refusing to give up on democracy, on decency, and on each other. We’re incredibly proud to stand beside all of you. Thank you for fighting and for proving, every day, that hope is stronger than fear. May the Force be with you. 💚
