been reading university/higher-ed policies on the use of genAI in education. most policies propose using genAI safely, ethically, & responsibly, which is an oxymoron. the way current genAI is developed, deployed & functions renders the very ideas of safety, ethics, and responsible use meaningless

UT is turning faculty into Uber drivers, taking directions from the Heritage Foundation. US university professors, the vast majority of whom are not represented by a union, will have less labor market power than K-12 teachers. Keep that in mind next time someone refers to professors as "elites."
