A new Irish convention approached us to exhibit there (they were not offering us a table, they were asking us to apply and pay for one) They use AI for their posters. I don't know what they thought would happen.

I probably won't get to actually attend this, but the work @seamuswritescomics.bsky.social has put in behind the scenes on this is exciting. (I then did a quick job on the graphic design the night before it was being sent to the convention...)

On Sunday at 2pm, @seamuswritescomics.bsky.social is back in the panel room to talk to @reesehanniganart.bsky.social, @ramosland.bsky.social and @rickeypurdin.bsky.social about Marvel Art Atelier. Reese is the first Irish artist to have been selected for the programme!

Nine years ago, @garethluby.bsky.social posted the cover for the first short Meouch comic we made. We're just revealed Frankie a couple of weeks prior, in HOW TO LIVE WITH YOUR CAT. Three zines and a colouring book later, we'd learned enough to put together the first proper issue of Meouch 😼

From our review submissions policy on our 'Contact Us' page. We can't give you coverage if you're associated with any of the Unholy Trinity. So that means at BF we operate policies of... No AI "art" No JK Rowling No Comicsgate

From the Broken Frontier submissions page. Text reads:

We do not review comics using generative AI “art” or the work of any creator using AI “art” in their practice. We operate a zero tolerance policy towards any form of generative AI. To speed up consideration for coverage we ask anyone submitting comics for review to confirm they are 100% free of gen AI with the statement “No generative AI was used in the creation of this comic” within the body of the text of their review request e-mail.

If your comics event or convention has a history of Harry Potter-related programming please confirm that this will no longer be the case going forwards with the statement “This event will not include any programming related to JK Rowling” within the e-mail to which your press release is attached.

Broken Frontier is an inclusive platform seeking to celebrate the diversity of the medium and those who work in it. We do not accept review submissions from anyone who is either involved in, or who associates with those involved in, comics hate groups.

I've been planning a couple of novellas for The Black Pages. There was one I was convinced that (a) I had planned already and (b) I had accidentally given two names. I just found the first mention of them both. They're separate stories, and the one I was going to plan out properly has only 2pgs.

Things I did not expect to find recently: - Titles, in order, for a series of Cassie Nora Brown stories - An outline for the first book in a later arc in The Black Pages - A short story printed into a mini zine Part of this is moving house. Part of this is organising files.

So you’ve seen The Odyssey and you want more to learn more about Greek Mythology @paulcarroll.bsky.social and I got you covered with DOWN BELOW: an anthology that mixes Greek Myth with Crime Noir. It’s full of bittersweet tragedies, impossible odds, and “heroes” struggling on in spite of it all.
