“I’ve long supported a fundamental reset of the upper house” Paul Sweeney MSP sets out his idea of a restructured upper chamber at Westminster, suggesting that legislators should “fundamentally have a mandate that has been democratically expressed”.

From Rochdale in 1844 to Downing Street today. For the first time in history, a Labour and Co-operative politician leads the country. Congratulations to Andy Burnham, Britain's first Labour and Co-operative Prime Minister. 🐝

Great meeting Finnie in Parliament yesterday, the 2026 Commonwealth Games mascot! Finnie was created by 76 children and young people across Glasgow to represent the city, with the iconic Duke of Wellington cone as her horn 🦄

Great to see such a high turnout on Saturday to protest the impending closure of Queen's Park Glasshouse. The glasshouse is a cherished part of our community, holding generations of memories for many residents and families. Its loss would be a significant blow to local heritage and culture.

Had a great time visiting Big Noise Govanhill this week, who do incredible work to improve lives and strengthen community through music. It was fantastic hearing some of the young musicians rehearsing and chat about my role as an MSP. Wishing everyone the best for the concert!🎻

No one in Scotland should live in fear due to the colour of their skin of their religious belief. The displays of hate witnessed in the city are the antithesis of the compassionate and welcoming spirit of Glasgow, and will not be tolerated.

On our Facebook page: A great presentation from Paul Sweeney MSP at yesterday's Glasgow planning meeting. The significance of Mackintosh's world heritage GSA for the city skyline and the inadequacy of current proposals for its site are all discussed. https://fb.watch/EN0vWIQUHb/
