Converge is just one of those bands that exists outside of time. Whenever I put on their records, it’s like being transported to a time of novelty, or urgency, of genius. Their music is like a half-remembered reverie that flees upon waking—a paradox at once ephemeral and material simultaneously.
You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.
The US is an incomparable threat to the future of the planet. This empire cannot stand and continue to freely destroy populations, countries, and societies as it pleases.
