After nine years as a professional gamedev I've chosen to quit. While I managed to have a steady flow of opportunities and good reliable income up to mid 2023, everything went downhill from there, and I started to get fewer, and shorter contracts

The main way in which AI has negatively impacted games industry jobs is not through actual automation of those jobs or even untrue claims about automation. It's by making capital unavailable because it's tied up in AI investments while also destroying the consumer base for video game hardware.

I won medals :OOOO Met some super cool painters & sculptors including a slayer sword winner and got a lot of encouragements. Getting gold in standard categories means I am now considered a "master" as far as painting competitions go. That's weird I can't yet believe it
