We really don't get to celebrate wins often enough these days. Making it so that @council.nyc.gov couldn't overturn @mayor.nyc.gov's veto is HUGE! So grateful for those who organized against this and stopped it. Sadly, there is even more work to do. But it's nice to be able to smile for once.

Wondering what PTET is? I do these filings these as part of my job, so here's the short version: when Trump reduced the state + local tax deduction, NY designed PTET so that well-off people could still deduct a lot of state + local taxes via their partnerships + s-corps. This proposal is a good one.

The NYPD's no-speech zone last night spread up to 6 blocks from the event — sprawling across avenues, into subways, and even limiting press access. This is unprecedented and extreme: that type of zone hasn't been used for the U.N., visits from the President, or the Republican National Convention.
