all the world's a stage and all the players are looking for quick exits from this fubar outfit

That said, let us take a moment to thank our Bluesky Trans and Furry Elders for freaking out Jack Dorsey so much he bolted and left us this nice social media playground, taking most of his crypto chuds with him. We thank you for your service.

"removing my adhd diagnosis was a relief (because of ablest policies that discriminate against a significant proportion of the population)" is the new "I'm happier after detransitioning (despite my ongoing dysphoria, because I'm not being actively transphobically abused every day by my society)"

You'd have to read to the thirteenth paragraph to discover the pull quote for the title was from Marcus Siding, a 23-year-old Swedish man living in Sweden that wanted to become a cop, but his ADHD diagnosis at the age of 12 barred him by law from becoming a Swedish cop Seems relevant

'“When my ADHD diagnosis was removed, it was a relief’
Rates of conditions such as ADHD and autism seem to be ever growing, but some adults diagnosed in childhood are happy to be free of their labels”

lmao, this guy thinks Abdul El-Sayed is destroying the democratic party because he campaigned on popular policies and is on track to beat the candidate endorsed by dem leadership with $60 million in outside funding

Both the center and left have decided that their path to victory means destroying, not pursuing, Democrats in the middle of their conflict. In my view — that’s not a recipe for victory. It’s a perfect way to tear the party apart.

turns out Gillibrand isn't *just* bigoted against Muslims (remember that screed she went on last year where she accused Mamdani of supporting global jihad?) Gillibrand also attends a church which endorses the blood libel that Jews killed Jesus oh btw Gillibrand is Senate Dem's main fundraiser

Jonathan Larsen@jonathanlarsen.bsky.social · 4d ago

In June 2025, Capitol Ministries leader Ralph Drollinger taught his Senate Bible study that Israel, the Jews, killed Jesus. The smear of deicide is the historic basis for antisemitism. Drollinger's statement wasn't a one-off impulsive remark. It was published in the pamphlet for that lesson.

I got two: Trump is ineligible to be president under the 14th amendment thus all his pardons and executive orders are null and void. also, it cannot possibly be the case that the Founders intended the pardon power to be a viable criminal conspiracy tool. pardons in service of crime are void as well

karl rove knausgård@uhactually.bsky.social · 5d ago

This is why the number one thing liberal con law people should be working on is arguments that Trump’s pardons are not valid. Obviously none of this can happen without court packing but once the new liberal court is in place, there need to be arguments ready to hand them.

worth remembering that our current crisis of absurd prices for computer components is an extremely recent development inflicted on the public by a small cabal of billionaires (man, i wish i had bought a new computer back when i posted this)

a screenshot from October of 2025 where i posted, "computers are dirt cheap now," which is a state of affairs that came to end almost immediately afterwards

i will stay home on election day rather than vote for an American version of Starmer all Starmer achieved in 2 yrs in office was to enact some of the worst anti-trans policies anywhere while also pivoting Labour so far to the right that it emboldened Reform to be full bore white supremacist

the abbot of unreason (an archaeologist)@merovingians.bsky.social · 7d ago

if this doesn't matter to you because she's up against Vivek, well, that's between you and your god, but I won't tolerate American Starmerism, a thing with an actual constituency in Dem elites, getting a foothold in this party.

A few years ago I made this as a gift for a friend after we learned that Weller, in full RoboDrag, would play the trumpet between takes. Maybe the best gift I’ve ever given.

the low-info/apathetic voter bloc is also the group w/ the lowest voting propensity (there were ~3m fewer voters in the '24 election than in '20) there are an awful lot of votes to be earned in that group for any politician willing to broaden their appeal beyond the narrow lanes of beltway punditry

mtsw@mtsw.bsky.social · 2w ago

that non-ideological, low-information and apathetic 20% is the key swing voting bloc and why really the only thing that matters for the midterms and beyond is gas prices and grocery prices (and to a lesser extent vibes around 'the economy')
