I’d love an update about the price of eggs. We’ve not heard about eggs in ages. I remember after he got elected seeing a tiktok of a women dancing with joy saying now we get cheap eggs and groceries. How’s that working out? I want to know

Brutal Poll Shows Trump’s Number Is Up But on He Rants Regardless Getting eight out of 10 Americans to agree is a feat but you don’t want it to be about how you’re failing to tackle a cost of living crisis. Read today's 'First Draft' from @martinpengelly.bsky.social: zeteo.com/p/brutal-pol...

The new regulations mark a return to rules from the first Trump administration.

For almost a year the largest project I have been working on is building support for non-Puzzmo games on @puzzmo.com Ribbit was built in 90% of that system, and Hue Complete Me was 100% in it. A month ago I ported the Crossword to it. Got a game? We're exploring opening up bsky.app/profile/stfj...

📣 We're trying something new over here in Puzzmo land — community games. We still have plenty of our own games coming, but if you've got a game you think would be a fit for Puzzmo, reach out! More info & the submission form here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F... Submissions run through October 2.

The best thing I read today: “Set reasonable goals and go after them with unreasonable effort” Love that! Effective iterations compound so well over time

The engineer in me can’t quite believe that this is Poltrone Sofa idea of “good enough” for the power to this sofa. Dangling cables taking the weight of that power pack, no cable management at all and too short a cable.

Hope @jamellebouie.net comes back here soon, but he is outstanding in this video format. The made-up fantasy world of David Brooks & other pundits is wildly unserious in the current moment & Jamelle nails it again here.

Normally I just appreciatively read @jamellebouie.net 's columns-sharable video content just isn't my bag. But this is a very, very, very trenchant piece of commentary that captures a lot of how I increasingly understand the disjunction between the commentary environment and on-the-ground politics.

Hmmm new issues I’m finding in my AI adventures. The curse of the “just one more feature/tweak” loop really sucks you in! The dopamine train is real. Good to be aware of it though. “It can wait” is what I’ve started saying to myself.

After spending 2 years playing with AI I now feel at a place where I ca. really motor with it. Getting so much done and it’s really put a spring in my step. Never been as productive and adding value. I don’t feel down trodden more like empowered.

I already dread the “<insert new dem presidents name here> humiliating surrender to Iran” rants we will get from Republicans when the inevitable “let’s get out of this mess at all costs” choices are made to mop up Trumps totally predictable mess of a war(s). Of course there will be no reflection.

“Caught between two unacceptable choices, Trump — and by association the US — is in limbo. Trapped, neither in nor out while the military continues to run through operations that have been proven not to work, watching as the weapons stockpile dwindles to nothing, the financial costs spiral…”

Such mixed feelings on this. When I did Robot Wars many moons ago some of us pondered doing more robotics but at the time the only logical employers looked to be defence industry which didn’t sit well with any of us. Now though with Russia being aggressive I’m cheering on Ukraine’s inventiveness

A ground robotic complex armed with machine guns was landed at the Kinburn Spit to attack the Russian troops located there. It was delivered to the Spit by a sea drone. Sounds like a movie - but it's reality, carried out by the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade.

I’m firmly in the “AI is actually an amazing tool in the right hands used the right way” camp. It’s allowing me to actually do all the bits and bobs on projects which make the projects scalable, maintainable and readable to humans (and AI) that so often got cut by deadlines and budgets in the past

2 runs a week for 6 weeks now and I’m stunned at the amount of progress I feel each time I go out. I run walk the same loop and the running parts are longer, the walking shorter and the number of them reducing. Pleasing and encouraging.
