Wondering, wandering.

August was the hottest month in global history and yet, NSW has just approved the biggest coal mine expansion ever proposed in the state. It is scandalous that Australia is leading negotiations at global climate talks, including in the Pacific next week.

I support the current arrangement where the federal leader of the Greens is chosen by the party room. The primary job of the leader is to collaboratively lead Greens parliamentary reps. Those reps need to have confidence in the leader and are best placed to choose the best leader. #auspol

GRNs members already have an incredibly democratic (id also say good) method of pre-selecting their candidates, senators exc, so those reps are to a large extent reflective of the membership and i think the 'knowing them personally' actually does matter

This is getting really serious. Both Webuild and MPDC have misled the Tasmanian community. There is a stench developing around this tender process for this unwanted and unaffordable stadium. It’s time for Tasmania to cut ties with Webuild. And abandon the stadium. #nonewstadium. #politas

Competition for talent is an aspect of party politics. Very few talented people with political ambitions will now choose the Liberals. #auspol

Thou shalt vote, take power, impeach Donald, arrest the Epstein class, shut down Fox News, tax the billionaires, and use the money to fund universal healthcare. And that’s just for starters. We’re talking universal pre-k, free college and high-speed rail.

This week I’ve wandered around Toorak and St Kilda in Melbourne, and Taroona and Battery Point in Hobart. Four very different urban cultures. Which ones will be cancelled under ON’s mono-culture for Australia edict? #auspol

In Huon, over 42% voted for candidates with policies of restricting salmon farming, stopping greyhound racing, no new stadium and stopping native forest logging. Labor had a good candidate but opposed these policies and got less than 17%. #politas

When future historians write about our times, they may call it the age of the cowards: the Republicans in the US Congress who won’t remove Trump, US Vice President JD Vance who won’t remove Trump, and Australia’s PM Albanese who dares not speak the moral truth about the Trump regime.
