Just ONE MONTH to go until the launch of Quartz Storm!!! I'm so excited!!! #booksky #WritingCommunity #fantasy #sff

Quartz Storm book cover. Words can't do this stunning art justice, but I'll try! The colour scheme is a dark turquoise, black, and gold. The background is a mottled turquoise, fading to black at the edges. Quartz Storm is in large gold ornate letters with a stylised tree wrapped about its letters. A campfire is at the base of the tree, with fungi and daggers to either side. The tree roots and branches intertwine about the daggers to meet about half way up the illustration. Ornate gold corners and a border, along with further turquoise detailing surrounds the book edges. At the top is written the author name, LE Draig, and at the base, book one of the Quartz Storm series Around the book are curly arrows with the phrases: queer characters; rebellion; save the sister, save the world; reluctant heroine; epic fantasy adventure; overthrow the patriarchy! Pre-orders available now. General release October 7th 2026

I think a lot of this is just a natural extension of the fact that MPs feel obliged to speak in the House a lot more, either for social media clips or just to make it seem like they're doing more work (when we all know that the majority of work is done outside the Chamber).

My latest for @economist.com: AI writing is taking over politics. 10% of what was is said in Parliament is now AI-drafted, per Pangram. Yet more in the House of Representatives, or in Australia and Canada. Link: www.economist.com/britain/202... And a 🧵 below, w/ some main offenders

Excited to see Quartz Storm available for preorder on the Great British Bookshop (not just because this gives higher paperback royalties than anywhere else, but that helps!) #booksky #WritingCommunity #sff #fantasybooks www.thegreatbritishbookshop.co.uk/products/qua...

I think this kind of dehumanising rhetoric is very common from people who consider themselves compassionate - people don’t even notice their own dehumanisation of others.

Heard a BBC vox pop (truly the bottom feeding of broadcast journalism) complain that the RNLI might not be able to get to ‘genuine people’ because they were busy rescuing from small boats. ‘GENUINE PEOPLE’. Imagine being that level of soulless d**k.
