Nearly 300,000 people have been forced to flee their homes as devastating wildfires continue to spread across France and Spain. Bordeaux officials are considering a total evacuation of the city if needed, while firefighters in Spain say some blazes are spreading too quickly to tackle head-on.

E-scooters are just another form of transport - like cars or motorbikes, they can be used irresponsibly, or they can meet a need for people going about their normal lives. We should enforce the laws we have to stop dangerous use of e-scooters, but we shouldn't criminalise e-scooter use.

e-scooters marketed at 6 year olds? No thanks! We need to tackle illegal e-scooters at the point of sale instead of trying to play catch-up once they're on the road. The law says it's illegal for anyone under 16 to use them on public roads and that they should be limited to 20km/h.

New hotels in Dublin will now face a much higher development charge than housing. That's thanks to a Green proposal we brought through Dublin City Council. The Irish Hotels Federation aren't happy, but I think we need to really focus in on the development our city prioritises.

BIG news in the fight for Dublin 8 pitches! We've just seen the initial planning documents for a fullsize pitch at Donore Avenue. Our local committee will get a presentation on Wed 17th with full planning lodged the next week. Plenty of road left to travel, but this is great, great news!
