Somnambulation. Little known fact: Every lock on the canal network has its own sun-dial so that bargees can always keep up with the time. For many non-boaters encountering a lock is like stepping back in time...

If Archie could have had a pet dog he would have chosen a pug. Walking back from an early morning run today a pug suddenly ran out from a driveway, did a couple of laps of my legs, asked for a pat on the head and ran back. Beautiful. And quite spooky.
